Establishing a governed, hybrid-ready Azure foundation to power containerized workloads, secure operations, and future digital services across MTN Ghana’s enterprise ecosystem
MTN Ghana required a secure, scalable cloud foundation to overcome infrastructure limitations and accelerate the delivery of modern digital services across its enterprise ecosystem.
Reliance Infosystems designed and implemented a governed Azure cloud landing zone, enabling secure containerized workloads, automated DevOps, and robust hybrid connectivity.
The engagement established a secure, enterprise-grade cloud foundation that significantly accelerated MTN Ghana's digital agility and operational resilience.
MTN Ghana (Scancom PLC) is one of Ghana’s leading telecommunications providers, serving millions of customers with mobile connectivity, data services, digital platforms, and financial solutions.
To strengthen its cloud-first strategy and accelerate innovation, MTN Ghana partnered with Reliance Infosystems to design and implement a secure Azure cloud landing zone and modern application platform to support enterprise workloads, hybrid connectivity, and future digital transformation initiatives.
The solution established a standardized, governed cloud foundation enabling secure onboarding of applications, improved infrastructure agility, and scalable digital service delivery.
A fully governed Azure landing zone was implemented, providing structured subscription management, identity integration, policy enforcement, and enterprise-grade cloud governance.
Secure connectivity between on-premises environments and Azure was established using VPN and hybrid networking architectures, supported by Azure Virtual Network, ExpressRoute/VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, and Application Gateway.
Virtual machines and cloud infrastructure services were deployed to support scalable workloads across Windows and Linux environments.
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) was implemented to enable containerized application deployment, horizontal scaling, and modern cloud-native workload management.
Database workloads were migrated and optimized using PostgreSQL and MongoDB Atlas with Azure Database Migration Services ensuring secure and seamless transition.
Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel were deployed to deliver centralized security monitoring, threat detection, and enterprise security posture management.
Azure DevOps enabled CI/CD pipelines, accelerating application deployment cycles and improving development efficiency.
Azure Backup and Recovery Services Vault ensured business continuity through automated backup policies and workload protection.
Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights provided end-to-end visibility into infrastructure health, application performance, and security events across all workloads.
Evaluated infrastructure, application dependencies, security requirements, and cloud readiness.
Established Azure governance, identity, networking, policy, and security controls.
Deployed core services including compute, networking, DevOps, security, and monitoring.
Migrated workloads using Azure Database Migration Services and optimized database platforms.
Enabled AKS and supporting services for containerized workload execution.
Completed testing, monitoring validation, and operational transition.
